Lautoka, FIJI ISLANDS - Recently I received a HINDI Bible which
had your address and I wanted to correspond because I needed more. There are
about a half million Indians in FIJI who speak HINDI. Most of these have not
heard of the Savior. Many of them are now coming to the Lord but the Bibles
available here are too expensive to buy. Please send your list of available
literature.
Another effective tool has been Gospel Packets in different languages. These packets include a Gospel (usually John), a few Scripture booklets and several tracts/leaflets. Unlike many of us raised in the Western Hemisphere, the South Asian peoples love to read. The Spirit of God can surely use the printed page in blessing to these needy souls.
Finally, we would be amiss not to mention the much valued Gospel Text Mottos, which grace many a wall in many a home throughout South Asia, Europe, North America, and the South Pacific regions. But whatever the tool or the medium. and whether Paul may plant or Apollos water, God alone can give the increase. And we trust him for it - the present and eternal welfare of souls world-wide depend upon His divine work in them.

Bits 'n Pieces - 40% of Suriname's population is of East Indian origin... As the year 2000 approaches, the number of Asians in Canada will pass the 4 million mark... Under the new Indian government with its secular and democratic assurances, the spiritual opportunity to carry forward the Gospel remains. India has more Muslims than Pakistan, the largest global Hindu population and Christians account for 4% of these many millions.
